Our Family-School Partnersprovide one-on-one consultation to parents, caregivers and professionals by phone, e-mail, or in person.
Learning Opportunities
PIC offers seminars on a wide range of topics to help parents and educators better understand the special education process, parent involvement issues, and related programs and services.
Leadership Training
PIC hosts an annual Family Leadership Academy t that provides parents and caregivers with the know- how and skills to navigate and improve local and state education systems for the benefit of their children. Look in the Events section of this website for upcoming Family Leadership Academies.
Audio Conferences
Our audio conferences allow parents the opportunity to learn in the convenience of their own home. Listen to educators, medical professionals, advocates and other parents discuss topics that are important to you and your child. Topics include: Strategies to prevent your child from being bullied; Understanding the IEP; Preparing for graduation; Developing effective advocacy strategies and more.
Toolkits
Toolkits provide information to help parents to effectively support their children on their journey through education. Parents must not only be familiar with all education policies and processes, but they must also know how and what children learn. Our toolkits are designed to help parents help their children succeed.
Online Resource Center
Our online resource center links parents to valuable information that might help them make educated choices and decisions for their children.
Lending Library
PIC maintains a comprehensive library of over 600 books, videos and DVD's on topics relating to disability, education, rehabilitation and other issues important to families.
